Mr. Nichols, who was stopped on January 7 in Memphis, Tennessee, on suspicion of careless driving, dies owing to the maltreatment by the cops.

Bodycam video captures the white police officer saying, "I hope they stomp his ass," after claiming to have tasered Mr. Nichols.
Tyre Nichols, who was assaulted by police last month, died due to his connection with a sixth police officer, who has since been fired.
When Mr. Nichols was stopped on January 7 in Memphis, Tennessee, on suspicion of careless driving, many cops beat him, striking him with a baton, punching, kicking, and other blows. As a result, Mr. Nichols was left in a severe condition.
Three days later, the 29-year-old passed away from his wounds. Preston Hemphill was identified as the sixth officer by the Memphis Police Department, claiming that, among other things, he had broken the rules involving the use of a Taser, honesty, and personal conduct.
Hemphill, a white police officer, and a seventh officer had broken the rules. They had already been dismissed from inquiring about their duties.
Although we disagree with the firing, Preston Hemphill will continue cooperating with authorities in their investigation into Mr. Nichols' death, according to Lee Gerald, Hemphill's lawyer.
The attorney stated of Hemphill's cooperation with the investigation: "That speaks for itself," but she refrained from commenting on whether Hemphill will also be charged criminally.
Five black police officers have been accused of second-degree murder due to the death of Mr. Nichols, among other offenses. They have been fired, reigniting a national conversation about race and police violence in the US.
There were other officials present. However, CCTV and bodycam footage showed them mingling and speaking for a while as the father-of-one remained on the ground.
Following an inquiry that revealed they had failed to give Mr. Nichols proper medical attention, the Memphis Fire Department said last week that it had dismissed two emergency medical technicians and an emergency vehicle driver.
As new information comes to light, other police officers, firefighters, and anyone who documented the incident may also face criminal charges, according to Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy.
Mr. Nichols could be heard repeatedly yelling "mom, mom" as he was assaulted in a bodycam video released by Memphis Police. Video captured cops beating Mr. Nichols with their fists, a baton, and a stun gun.
According to Hemphill's attorney, his client was wearing the body camera that recorded the first four recordings made public by the authorities.
Hemphill may be heard admitting he tasered Mr. Nichols during the initial stop and adds, "I hope they stomp his ass."
After Mr. Nichols was dragged from his car, knocked to the ground, doused in pepper spray, and then managed to free himself and flee, the cop appeared to fire a Taser stun gun at him.
The five officers who were ultimately fired pursued him and participated in the most brutal beatings.
