Nigeria Breaking News Today: High Voltage Kills a Pregnant Woman, Police Officers, and Others in Kaduna
According to reports on Thursday morning, the event occurred in the Zazzau, Gwargwaje, and Kauran Juli regions along the Zaria-Kaduna Expressway.

A resident identified as Mallam Abdullahi Tanimu told the Daily Post that the electric power supply was restored at high voltage in the region at 1 a.m., causing damage to electronics due to an indiscriminate spark.
According to him, the spark ignited a fire that destroyed the home of one Engr. Zubair Abubakar, while other dwellings continued to emit smoke. A pregnant woman, a health worker, and a police officer were among those killed by excessive voltage, according to Naija News.
Confirming the tragic event, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, Head of Corporate Communication at Kaduna Electricity Company (KEDCO), revealed that the disaster resulted from a high-tension line snapping into a low-tension line, resulting in a voltage supply that exceeded norms.
"In an emergency, the source feeder was promptly opened to avert more harm," Abdullahi explained.
The statement, however, praised Zazzau's Emir, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, for his assistance in mitigating the impact of the catastrophe.
