She told the online portal Kerr Fatou that the incident occurred when National People's Party NPP militants sought to utilize the Tallingding Community Center grounds for cooking before their gathering on Sunday.
According to her, they had discovered the location was locked, but they broke the padlock and entered. Her husband was notified then, and he went to find out.
When he got to the center, NPP extremists attacked him in front of Interior Minister Seyaka Sonko.
Her husband, Karamo, reported the incident to the Bundung Police Station and then returned to the center, according to Madame Ceesay. She further said that the police to whom he had reported the incident returned to arrest him shortly after.
She claimed that when her brother visited Karamo at the police station, the officials told her brother that he needed to bring an ambulance if Karamo wanted to be released.
Later, he was transferred to the Bajulinding Anti-Crime Unit, where she was informed that her husband would spend the night. Madame Ceesay informed Kerr Fatou that the police claimed to have no idea why Karamo was there and that they had been instructed to keep him there.
When The Standard called ASP Binta Njie, the police public relations officer, she stated that she could not confirm or deny that Councilor Karamo Cessay had been arrested.
"I am not disputing that he has been arrested, nor am I claiming to be able to confirm that he has been, as I do not have any new information. However, regarding what I have heard, I have asked to know the circumstances surrounding the distribution of the arrest and detention report.
