ALS Paramedic Jamieson said 15 patients, who had injuries ranging from minor to severe, got stabilized by various ambulance services before being taken to the hospital.

Garrith Jamieson, from ALS Paramedics, said Two taxis ran into each other at the Goodwood corner and Leukoo roads in the Westmead area.

 "Immediately we arrived, we met a severe and devastating scene and called for immediate back-up," the paramedics informed.

"There were several casualties. "Paramedics established a triage zone and discovered that one person had been thrown from the vehicle and had sustained multiple injuries.

"Unfortunately, rescuers could not save her, and she was pronounced dead at the site. While paramedics worked to stabilize many critical patients, a man in his forties became cardiac arrest. Despite resuscitation efforts, he died on the scene."
